Irby Cox, Senior Executive Consultant

Irby brings 38 years of ministry and education experience to his O’Meara Ferguson clients. With two degrees in education and one in music, Irby began his career as an educator and music minister. His pastoral style and zeal for forming healthy faith communities lead him to become a capital stewardship consultant in 2001. In his consulting career, Irby is valued as a patient and insightful stewardship educator. Irby has served as a trusted advisor to a wide spectrum of pastoral and lay leaders and has a history of successful capital stewardship campaigns. He has lead campaigns with a variety of needs such as facility renovation, campus relocation, and debt reduction. Irby has lead campaign with faith communities as small as 85 families to churches with more than 1500 families. Among other valuable qualities, Irby is recognized for his ability to adapt campaign strategies to meet the varied sizes and needs of the communities he serves. His most successful campaign helped a church to raise 20 times their annual income. Most recently, Irby has worked with parish campaigns within the Archdioceses of Milwaukee, Louisville, and Detroit.

Irby earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Oklahoma Baptist University, a Master of Education from North Texas State University, and a Master of Church Music from Southwestern Theological Seminary.

Irby and his wife, Cheryl, reside in Mansfield, Texas, and are the parents of twin sons, Benjamin and Matthew. In his spare time, Irby enjoys participating in water sports of all types, cooking, fishing, and playing racquetball. A handyman, Irby contracted and built his home with the help of his sons.
