From May 9-13, 2011 O’Meara Ferguson President and Founder Patrick O’Meara travelled to Spain to address a conference of Chief Financial Officers of the dioceses of that country. The conference was organized by the Canon Law faculty of the University of Navarre.
In this podcast Pat O’Meara speaks with Fr. Daniel Mahan (who also participated in the conference) about the Catholic Church in Spain and the dynamics involved with the Church’s management of temporal goods and her spiritual mission. For example, in Spain the Church is a major holder of real estate, including many Church buildings of historical and cultural significance. Patrick discusses the challenges and opportunities faced by the dioceses in Spain in balancing their financial responsibilities with their divine call to advance the mission of the Church.
